August 2026

Dear Friends,

Over the years, the studio, the practice, and our community have continued to evolve.

I’ve learned so much from your practice, your progress, your feedback, and your changing needs.

The heart of the studio has always been Therapeutic Yoga, and lately, I have been reflecting on an important question:

What does it truly mean for something to be therapeutic?

We often associate the word therapeutic with something calming, gentle, or relaxing.

And sometimes it is.

But to me, therapeutic means anything that supports healing and brings greater harmony, balance, and well-being to our body and mind.

Sometimes healing comes through stillness and rest.

Sometimes it comes through moving dynamically.

And sometimes it comes through the process of becoming stronger.

As we enter our fourth year together, I want our class schedule to offer a balanced approach to mobility, flexibility, strength, balance, and recovery.

With that intention, here are a few changes you can expect to see:

Relax & Restore will return to Therapeutic Yoga.

In some ways, I’m going back to how I taught during the studio’s first few years. It will be a slow, mindful, intentional practice that incorporates poses on the floor with props, gentle standing work, and deep stretches held for longer periods of time.

This class is a complete and effective practice on it’s own, and also, the perfect complement to Strength Training, giving your body an opportunity to relax, recover, and release tension.

Mobility & Balance will remain the same.

This class will continue to focus on balance, posture, stability, coordination, and maintaining freedom of movement through a combination of standing and floor-based exercises.

I am testing a new class: Stick Mobility 8/13 at 11 AM.

We will use a mobility stick for support, leverage, and feedback as we move through deep stretches and slow, controlled dynamic movements.

This class will help you to stand taller, move more freely, and feel more open throughout your entire body.

Yoga with Weights will become Strength Training

This new name more accurately reflects what the class has evolved into: a structured strength-training session.

We will continue incorporating certain yoga poses and principles when they support the purpose of the class, but the primary focus will be building strength, supporting bone health, improving balance, and increasing our capacity for everyday life.

We will work at a slightly slower pace, so we can keep incorporating progressive overload, proper form, and staying fully present to our body and breath through each movement.

There will be final relaxation and sound healing at the end of every session :)

Each class emphasizes something a little different, but they all are designed to help you move better, feel better, and live better through every stage of life.

Thank you for trusting me, growing with me, and being willing to try new things as the studio continues to evolve.

I can’t believe we’re going into our fourth year together. You all mean so much to me and give me purpose.

Please continue to share your feedback so I can continue to improve.

I am deeply grateful to be part of your journey and excited about where we will go from here.

See you soon,

Ayla
